>>Go here for best price Cephalexin medication. Prices lower than your local pharmacy store!<<

What is Cephalexin? Cephalexin capsules are prescribed in the management of the infections described below, when caused by sensitive strains of the designated microorganisms.

– Cephalexin is used for treating respiratory tract infections produced by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes (Penicillin is the drug usually administered in the management and avoidance of streptococcal infections, including the prophylaxis of rheumatic fever. Cephalexin capsules are generally successful in the destruction of streptococci from the nasopharynx; however, relevant data related to the the value of cephalexin use in the subsequent prevention of rheumatic fever are not available at present.)
– Cephalexin is used for treating otitis media produced by Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Moraxella catarrhalis.

- Cephalexin is used in the treatment of bone infections produced by Staphylococcus aureus and/or Proteus mirabilis

– Cephalexin is used in genitourinary tract infections, including acute prostatitis, caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, or Klebsiella pneumoniae
Tests to study culture and susceptibility should be run previous to and for the duration of therapy. Renal function studies should be initiated when indicated.

To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and keep the efficacy of Cephalexin and other antibacterial drugs, Cephalexin should be used only to manage or prevent infections that are certain or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are offered, they should be considered in the selection or modification of antibacterial therapy.

It should be kept in mind, however, that there is a small probability that people who are allergicto penicillin will also be allergic to cephalexin or to other cephalosporins.

Cephalexin is not effective against any infection produced by a virus, for example the flu, stomach flu, or common cold.
